JSA+Partners, a Santa Monica-based boutique communications firm, is looking for a Summer 2025 Public Relations intern to join our team and help us service our clients, ranging from startups to global brands in consumer technology, digital media, and esports & gaming. 

We’re looking for a hardworking, self-starter with some relevant PR experience from past internships and coursework. Because we’re a small shop, you'll get a chance to gain more "hands-on" experience with research projects, participation in client meetings, development of pitches and press releases, and other writing assignments. You will also be responsible for building and updating media lists and sourcing speaking opportunities for clients. 

Although we think being in-person in our office in Santa Monica provides a better learning environment, we’re open to hybrid work with at least three days in the office.

Paid internship opportunity at $17/hour. Minimum of 32 hours per week.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitoring for relevant industry and client news and updating client coverage trackers.
• Listening in on client calls and spearheading note-taking. 
• Developing written PR materials, including press releases, pitches, and briefing docs. 
• Supporting thought leadership opportunities, including drafting submissions, sourcing new events and awards, and helping the team keep track of deadlines. 
• Maintaining and developing media lists. 
• Researching industry trends and creating backgrounders on potential new business.

YOU SHOULD APPLY IF YOU: 

• Are currently enrolled in a university or college as an undergraduate, master’s student, or a recent graduate in PR, Journalism, or a related field.
• Care about clients in consumer tech, digital media, esports, gaming, sports, and the creator economy.
• Are a strategic thinker, intellectually curious, and a great writer
• Are a team player and effective collaborator 
• Are organized, detail-oriented, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously 
• Can work in a fast-paced environment
• Are a self-starter and self-confident, but also enjoy having fun
• Have a hunger and desire to grow as a PR professional
